Privacy Policy

What information Versus collects, why we need it, who else sees it, and the choices you have.

Last updated 28 October 2026

The short version
  • 1We sign you in with Google and receive only your name, email and profile picture — never your password.
  • 2We keep records of your matches, reports, chat and evidence to settle matches fairly and resolve disputes.
  • 3Payments go through NOWPayments. We never hold your private keys, and blockchain transactions are public by nature.
  • 4Your username, avatar and match stats are public; your email and balance are not.
  • 5We don't sell your data and don't use advertising cookies. Promotional messages only if you opt in.
  • 6You can see, correct or delete your data and withdraw consent — email privacy@versus.center.

A quick summary to help you read — the full text below is what applies.

1. Who we are

Versus ("Versus", "we") operates versus.center and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. It applies whenever you visit the site, create an account, play matches, or use the wallet, referral, missions, friends or chat features.

This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service. Words like "room", "stake" and "escrow" have the meaning given there.

2. Information we collect

From Google, when you sign in: your name, email address, profile picture and a Google account identifier. We don't receive your Google password or your contacts.

That you give us:

  • Username, bio, chosen language, and the in-game account names you register for each game.
  • Your confirmation that you are 18+ and accept the Terms, and whether you opted in to match invites, events and promotions.
  • A referral code you used, and who referred you.
  • Room chat messages, evidence screenshots, and anything you send to support.
  • Saved withdrawal addresses and their labels.
  • Identity or address documents, only if we ask for verification (see the Terms, section 15).

Created when you use Versus:

  • Gameplay: rooms you create or join, team and seat, stakes, ready status, result reports and placements, Rock Paper Scissors moves, match results, payouts, reputation score, level, leaderboard ranking and match history.
  • Wallet: deposits (amount, network, deposit address, NOWPayments payment ID, status), withdrawals (amount, fees, destination address, transaction hash, status) and your full balance ledger.
  • Social: friends, friend requests, room invites, notifications, referral statistics, mission progress and claimed rewards.
  • Security: your two-factor authentication secret (used only to check your codes) and recovery codes stored in protected form; sign-in sessions; IP address; browser and device type; time stamps; and security logs.
  • Approximate location: the country your connection appears to come from, used to suggest a language and to apply location restrictions.

We don't make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects without human review. Automated checks (for example matching result reports, or flagging an unusual withdrawal) can hold a match or a withdrawal for review, but disputed results and rejected withdrawals are decided by a person.

4. What other players can see

  • Anyone: your username, avatar, level and match statistics on the leaderboard and in room lists for rooms you host.
  • Players in the same room: your username, avatar, team, ready status, the in-game account name you registered for that game, your chat messages and your evidence screenshots. Result reports stay private — others only see how many players have reported.
  • Your friends: your online status, for invites.
  • The person who referred you: your name, when you joined, how many matches you've played, when you last played, and the commission they earned. Your stakes, balance and email are never shown to them.

Your email, balance, wallet history, saved addresses and 2FA status are never shown to other players.

5. Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information or share it for third-party advertising. We share it only with:

  • Google — to sign you in.
  • NOWPayments — to process deposits and withdrawals. NOWPayments handles payment data under its own privacy policy and may carry out its own compliance checks.
  • Public blockchains — deposit and withdrawal transactions are recorded on a public ledger that anyone can view and that no one, including us, can change or delete.
  • Infrastructure providers — hosting, content delivery, databases, email and storage providers that process data on our behalf under contract and only on our instructions.
  • Authorities and advisers — when required by law, court order or regulation, to prevent fraud or money laundering, or to protect the rights and safety of players and Versus.
  • A successor — if Versus is merged, acquired or its assets are transferred, in which case this policy continues to protect your information.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use only what the site needs to work. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

You can delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. If you block the sign-in cookie you won't be able to stay signed in.

7. International transfers

Versus has players in many countries, and our providers may process data in countries other than yours, which may have different data-protection laws. When we transfer personal information internationally we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, or rely on another lawful basis for the transfer.

8. How long we keep it

  • Account and profile: for as long as your account is open, then deleted or anonymised, except as below.
  • Wallet, ledger and transaction records: for at least 5 years after the transaction, or longer if accounting or anti-money-laundering law requires.
  • Match records, reports, chat and evidence: for as long as needed to settle the match and handle disputes and fair-play investigations, and kept with the match record afterwards. Room chat disappears from your screen when you leave the room, but is stored on our servers for this purpose.
  • Security logs: generally up to 12 months, longer if they relate to an investigation.
  • Verification documents: as long as the law requires after the end of our relationship.

When you close your account, your username may remain on past match records and leaderboards in anonymised form so other players' histories stay accurate.

9. How we protect it

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), Google sign-in so we never store passwords, two-factor authentication for withdrawals, a waiting period on new withdrawal addresses, access controls limiting which staff can see personal data, and monitoring for unusual activity. Stakes are held in escrow by the platform, not passed between players directly.

No system is perfectly secure. Protect your Google account, your authenticator app and your recovery codes. If we become aware of a breach that affects your personal information, we'll notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
  • correct it — you can edit your username, bio and in-game accounts yourself on your profile;
  • delete it, or close your account;
  • object to or restrict some uses, such as those based on legitimate interests;
  • data portability — receive the information you gave us in a machine-readable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time, for example to promotional messages, without affecting what was done before;
  • complain to your local data-protection authority.

To use any of these rights, email privacy@versus.center from the email address on your account. We may need to verify your identity and will respond within the time the law requires (normally 30 days). Some information can't be deleted while it's still needed — for example records of an unsettled match or a pending withdrawal, or records we must keep by law — and data already written to a public blockchain can't be erased by anyone.

11. Children

Versus is only for adults aged 18 or over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we'll close it, return any balance as the law allows, and delete their information. If you believe a minor is using Versus, contact privacy@versus.center.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or the law change. We'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll tell you in the Service or by email before they take effect.
